Visiting Trenton & the Delaware River Region
New Jersey's Delaware River region celebrates spring and summer with events including the 2014 Bordentown Street Fair and opening day for the MiLB Trenton Thunder. The Northern Burlington Regional Chamber of Commerce presents the Bordentown Street Fair May 17th and 18th, filling Farnsworth Avenue with fun, food, and festivities.
Arm and Hammer Park, 6 miles north of Bordentown on the Delaware River, is home to the Trenton Thunder. A full calendar of games provides residents and visitors a summer filled with America’s favorite pastime. Enjoy an evening at the ballpark with family and friends at Dollar Dogs night, Thirsty Thursday games, or bobblehead events.
New Jersey’s Rancocas State Park is 20 miles south of Trenton in the community of Westampton. An ideal outdoor summer destination, the park offers 210 acres with varied habitats and three miles of trails. The 2014 summer camps for kids begin June 30th.
Two miles north of Thorofare, on the banks of the Delaware River, Red Bank Battlefield Park and the Ann Whitall House open for summer history lessons and outdoor recreation. On Sundays during spring and summer the park hosts monthly Heritage Sunday, featuring historic re-enactments of life in historic New Jersey. Take a self-paced tour of the battlefield, hike along the Delaware River trails, and picnic under the trees.
Gloucester County DREAM Park, 14 miles southwest of Thorofare, is a state-of-the-art equestrian complex offering facilities and events for horse owners and equestrian enthusiasts. DREAM Park is also home to the Therapeutic Riding Center South Jersey, offering kids and adults with special needs riding and driving lessons.
Summer 2014 events at the DREAM Park include the Paso Fino Horse Show May 30th and 31st, Luck of the Draw Bulls & Barrels June 14th and 15th, and the Garden State Paint Show the weekend of July 5th and 6th. Local New Jersey residents, take advantage of the summer camps for kids beginning on June 23rd.
Auto racing fans, Bridgeport Speedway is your destination for an action packed ¼ mile. Located 20 miles north of Williamstown near the Delaware River, the 2014 summer season at the speedway is filled with weekend excitement. Known for the Poker Series, join the fun on Sunday May 25th, and Thursday July 3rd for special events.
