Visiting the Delaware River Region

New Jersey’s Delaware River region, the stretch of cities, towns, and attractions just on the eastern banks of the Delaware, is a vibrant and welcoming destination. With a host of grade-A, must-see sites, it’s easy to have an unforgettable visit here. During the fall, winter, and into spring, this region is as inviting as ever – plan your visit today.

When you visit the Delaware River region of NJ, be sure to stay in the charming township of West Deptford. Easily accessed from Interstate 295, West Deptford is pleasant and welcoming at all times of the year, and during the fall and winter, it will yield quick access to some spectacular nearby attractions.

Don’t miss the Gloucester County Institute of Technology in nearby Sewell. Be sure to make the short drive into nearby Camden to see the Susquehanna Bank Center for top musical acts, the Battleship New Jersey Museum & Memorial is a must, and the campus of Rutgers University-Camden is ideal for traveling families.

From West Deptford, make the short drive into nearby Logan for one of their premier annual celebrations. Visit on October 1st for the very fun Logan Day, held at Township Line Park. Logan Day is free to attend and features a car show, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, kid’s activities, plenty of food choices, and so much more.

Travel north along I-295 from West Deptford into Bordentown. Inviting and radiant in its own unique way, Bordentown will yield short drives to nearby top attractions like Mercer County Park – few destinations will offer such impressive views of the fall foliage – and the New Jersey State Museum in nearby Trenton.

Be sure to take part in one of the most anticipated events this fall in Bordentown. Visit Farnsworth Avenue in downtown Bordentown over the weekend of October 1st and 2nd for the 27th Annual Cranberry Fest. More than 145 vendors and crafters are anticipated this year, all featuring unique items with a fun, cranberry twist. There will be live music, a kid’s zone, and a juried craft show to end the fest.

Near the end of the year, Bordentown will be hosting their annual Holiday Model Train Show at the Old City Hall. Visit on December 30th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and marvel at the wealth of intricately designed model trains – a great option for visiting families.
