Visiting Newark & the Gateway Region
With snow beginning to recede, the New Jersey Gateway region emerges from winter to offer visitors a wealth of things for families to see and do. Not only are communities from Newark and Fort Lee to Hazlet and Lakewood just minutes away from the excitement of New York City and countless opportunities for outdoor fun, but this season they also host enough special events, festivals, sports and kid-friendly activities to prove the Gateway Region is a top travel destinations in its own right.
Communities throughout the Gateway offer all sorts of edifying entertainment this season. Take the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra – they fill the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark with the classic themes from Macbeth, the Tempest, and other Shakespearian favorites on January 22nd. The spring season is shaping up to be just as good. Check the calendar during your visit.
