Visiting Atlantic City & the Jersey Shore

It’s summertime along the Jersey Shore, meaning the people of communities from Atlantic City and Pleasantville to Lakewood and Hazlet are taking to the outdoors to celebrate with more special events, festivals, sports, and family-friendly fun than any other time of year.

At no other time does the Atlantic Ocean sparkle more brightly against the sunshine than in the summer. Visitors can take in the beauty of the coast by packing up the car and embarking on a scenic driving tour this season. If you’re heading south from the NYC area, you’ll encounter a wealth of one-of-a-kind attractions and points of historic significance along the way – and Atlantic City doesn’t make too bad of a landing spot.

Catch a show while you’re in town. Grand Funk Railroad will make feet stomp on May 21st at the Tropicana Casino, and the legendary Boardwalk Hall boasts an exciting summer calendar of its own.

Savor some of the newest and most exciting flavors in NJ this summer at the 2016 Atlantic City Food Truck Festival on June 18th and 19th. Held at Brighton Park in Atlantic City, the festivities promise not only a gathering of premier local food purveyors, but also live music, a kids' zone, a beer and wine garden, and more. The free fun starts at noon both days.

Later in the summer, the sky above Atlantic City fills with excitement. On August 17th, the United States Air Force’s most famous stunt pilots, the Thunderbirds, dazzle audiences lining the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk below. Best of all – the 2016 Atlantic City Airshow is free and open to the public.

Mild summer weather means fair season comes early East Brunswick. From August 1st through 7th, the 2016 Middlesex County Fair takes over the Middlesex County Fairgrounds. The annual local tradition returns will all the staples families know and love – everything from midway rides and games to fried food, agricultural and livestock exhibitions and competitions, specialty vendors, live entertainment, and more.
