Visiting Atlantic City & the Jersey Shore

Things are warming up along the Jersey Shore. Not only does spring’s beautiful weather open up countless opportunities for outdoor adventures, it also makes communities from Atlantic City and Pleasantville to Lakewood and Hazlet that much more inviting. Special events, festivals, kid-friendly fun, and more – spring’s a special time along the Jersey Shore.

Take advantage of this season’s beautiful weather by exploring the Garden State’s colorful coastline on a scenic driving tour. There are all sorts of roadside attractions and historical focal points to stop and see along the way, and for travelers heading south, Atlantic City makes one heck of a destination.

When you get to AC, make sure to explore the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk. The setting for thousands of tales of liquor barons, flappers, and vacationing gentry, the Boardwalk today preserves a sense of its lore while providing plenty of things for visiting families to see and do.

Shop the wares of countless specialty merchants, try your luck at nearby casinos like the Golden Nugget, or see a show at Boardwalk Hall. This season’s eclectic array of events includes Jason Aldean in concert on February 27th, WWE Live: Road to Wrestlemania on March 12th, and the 2016 Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival on April 8th and 9th.

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is located in New Brunswick, just minutes from East Brunswick. This season, the university hosts a wide variety of arts and cultural events for students and the community at large. On April 8th, check out TFAP@TEN, an exhibition in honor of The Feminist Art Project’s 10th anniversary featuring the works of six TFAP-New Jersey artists.

And for sports fans, spring Wrestling and men’s and women’s basketball seasons are currently underway. Check the schedule for your chance to catch the Scarlet Knights in action at the Louis Brown Athletic Center in neighboring Piscataway Township.
